Workers Comp

Mark Cloutier has been the lead attorney in the firm’s worker compensation practice, representing employees and self insured employer groups for over twenty-five years.

Maine's workers compensation rules change constantly - in dozens of decisions announced by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court each year in contested cases and in amendments to the law adopted by the Legislature from year to year.

These changes mean this complex law has different rules for similar circumstances that occur at different times – and require an expert with a working knowledge of the law as it has applied over the years.

Unlike many compensation lawyers, Cloutier, Conley & Duffett does not charge a portion of a weekly lost wage benefit as a legal fee – accepting fees only when the employee prevails, and at the time when a case terminates with settlement or a decree of retroactive benefits.

Testimonials

I went to the attorneys of Cloutier Conley and Duffett for a long, difficult and complicated lawsuit that took several years to complete, and that we only finished after a 2 week trial and an appeal. We won and it saved the financial future for me and my partners. After it was over, for the last 20 years, we have relied on the firm for financial and business planning so that, as they said the day we won, "you'll never need to go to court again." - Fred J.
